1. Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi
Noi Bai International Airport (IATA: HAN, ICAO: VVNB), the largest airport in northern Vietnam, serves the capital city of Vietnam. The airport is located 28 miles (45 km) from the central district of the city. Noi Bai International Airport plays an important role as a gateway connecting the North and also connecting Vietnam with other countries around the world. There are 29 international airlines operating at Noi Bai International Airport and daily, on average more than 250 flights are processed.
2. Danang International Airport, Da Nang city
Danang International Airport – one of the three largest international airports in Vietnam after Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport – is the main airport serving the international air transportation needs and Inland to this city and neighboring provinces. This is the starting point for more than 100 international and domestic flights, carrying about 10,000 passengers a day. Da Nang International Airport is located in Hai Chau district, 1 km east of Da Nang city center, making traveling more convenient.
3. Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City
Tan Son Nhat International Airport, 7 km north of Ho Chi Minh City, is the largest airport in Vietnam. The airport is a gateway to many parts of the world, as well as an important air traffic hub for South Vietnam and other regional countries such as Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. In 2011, Tan Son Nhat International Airport accounted for 2/3 of the total number of international passengers using air transport in Vietnam. Currently, more than 40 airlines operate at Tan Son Nhat International Airport daily with 360 flights daily. In the near future, the figure is expected to reach 400 per day.
There are no trains currently running between Vietnam and neighboring countries.
Travelers can take buses from China, Cambodia and Laos to Vietnam, cheap but slightly slow.
Ships and ferry
No official passenger service. Guests can travel by boat to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Hai Phong from Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and France. Check with local travel and transportation agents for pricing and availability. A ferry service runs from Cambodia to Chau Doc of Vietnam in the Mekong Delta.
